For as long as I can remember, denim has been my go-to. I have also never missed an opportunity of rocking a beautiful jean let alone a Canadian tuxedo. When styling this look it got me reminiscing about how I started blogging. Denim on denim was actually one of the first blog post looks I ever styled.

How to style denimm

I often get asked to share how to style denim. This should seem like a no brainer, however, it’s still common to find that so many people don’t know the ins & outs of jeans or how to style them.

There’s no real secret or strategy behind styling jeans. In my book, there is however, a certain guideline to purchasing jeans as investments. After all, you want to buy a pair that will last if not five years a good while.

Cannot live without a denim jacket in my closet

Also, I literally cannot live without a denim jacket in my closet. It’s one of the most basic and important pieces to have in your closet. This one featured in these photos is truly a masterpiece. The oversized fit, patchwork detailing makes it the perfect statement piece. I wear mine out all the time and always receive so many compliments.

Tips and tricks on how to shop for denim

For one, when shopping for jeans, I always look for the dye I’m interested in that exact moment / season. For example, during summertime, I rather a lighter dye over a darker dye.

Secondly, I like to avoid a denim that has harsh intense stitching. Stitching can really make it or break it when it comes to investing in a jean, especially since stitching is a fad. Jeans are forever so if you are buying a pair, I would suggest to watch out for dark brown and thick stitching.

Lastly, wether you want an every day denim or an occasional denim will really minimize and facilitate your shopping time. For occasional denim, the pair featured in this blog post are really great. Click HERE to shop. I especially love the white leather lines on the side and frayed straight leg bottom. On the other hand, every day denim would resemble something a little more like the ones featured HERE.
