And just like that I’m back to regular old non-wedding related blog posts. I feel like Monica in the episode of Friends right after her wedding to Chandler, when she complained that she’d never be a bride again, and instead was now just a wife. Such is life.

So, it’s now summer which is basically rosé and gingham season. Amirite?? I fell in love with this yellow gingham skirt set as soon as I saw it online. I brought it to Mexico and wore it the day of our wedding rehearsal, but we were too busy to actually take any pictures.
So, that meant I needed a New York City excuse to wear it back home — which we found! Marc and I discovered a little rooftop vineyard oasis right in Brooklyn Navy Yard called Rooftop Reds, the perfect spot for gingham.
As with my hesitancy toward wearing crop tops, I’ve had a hard time embracing the two-piece set. I absolutely love the look on other people but wasn’t sure if I could pull it off myself. And like the crop top, the key for me is a high-waisted bottom.
The great part about this skirt is that the waistline is completely forgiving so you can wear it as high or as low as you’d like. That gives you the versatility to be as tummy-baring as the occasion permits. I prefer to wear it right at my natural waist, so there is just a hint of skin as I move around.
I arrived in London yesterday to meet Marc and today we head down to Devon to visit his parents for the weekend. Lots of pics to come here on the blog next week or follow along on Instagram in the meantime!
