Gingham is the print of summer 2018. While it’s been around forever, and I’m pretty sure it won’t ever go out of style, but this season it is very in, and you can’t escape it. So, I’m writing to tell you how to wear gingham this summer and embrace it!
In this post I’m wearing black and white gingham, but gingham comes in plenty of colors and sizes. I love them all! Gingham is just like any other print, so you’ll notice the points I outlined can work for many different prints!

How to Wear Gingham
Go Big & Make it Noticeable
Don’t hide it! I’m not a big print person, but I fully believe that if you’re going to wear it, make it big. I love this pretty midi skirt! I’m wearing a 00 from J.Crew Factory!
Pair it With Solids
Of course print mixing is fun! But if you’re here, you know I’m a fan of solids and neutrals, so this is my next tip. If you aren’t sure what to pair with your gingham piece, definitely go for a solid, and to make it easier, choose one of the colors in the gingham.
…and Other Prints
When mixing prints, always remember to pair complementary colors, and make sure your prints are one large, and one small. So I might pair a small polka dot with this midi skirt, or a mini floral. I actually do have stripes on my shoes in this look!
Don’t Forget the Color
I love adding a (small) pop of color in a black and white outfit. I usually go for a bag, like my pink bow clutch, or a red lip. Usually both! These red sunnies or these would look amazing here too. They’re now in my shopping cart.
