Weekend Update

One of my best friends and college roommate Ashley came to visit Chicago this weekend! We did a bunch of fun holiday activities: holiday tea at the Drake and the German Christmas market and shopping at Watertower Place. She also gave me some much needed advice on how to arrange our new condo – she’s a wiz at home decor and I’m nearly hopeless. She helped reinforce some of my good ideas and steered me in the right direction on things I wasn’t quite sure about. Once I get everything together I can’t wait to show you all how it looks!

Finally – Happy Hanukah! Tonight is the second night! Check out my Instagram stories to see my menorah.

My Retro Outfit

Sometimes it’s fun to dress a little out of your time zone. I went to an event to celebrate the launch of Show Me Your Mumu’scollaboration with Tie Bar, and they so graciously let me choose an outfit to wear to the event. They designed a gorgeous line of bridesmaid dresses, with coordinating Tie Bar ties to match. The dresses aren’t just for bridesmaids though. For instance, this satin dress would be stunning for holiday parties or a wedding.

Dramatic Bell Bottoms

I couldn’t pass up these dramatic bell bottoms with the fun lace-up details (remember when I teased them in this post!?) The high rise style is super flattering, especially this time of year when I prefer to camouflage my Christmas cookie intake. These pants have a distressed hem, which is perfect because I had to cut a couple inches off the bottoms to accommodate my short legs. They also come in tan!

My flouncy blouse is so comfortable and comes in a couple of other colors. I just might need it in gold, too.
